For McGill undergraduate programs where mathematics is a prerequisite requirement the following are acceptable as prequisites: Math Analysis and Approaches (AA), both HL and SL, and Math Applications and Interpretation (AI), HL only. SL Math AI is accepted for programs where mathematics is not a prerequisite such as the Faculty of Arts, B.A. degree and many programs in the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree.
IB English in Group 1 (English A) with a predicted/final grade of '5' or better, will exempt a student in a non-English-speaking country from the requirement of providing additional proof of English proficiency.
Individual DP courses are recognized as adding rigour to a high school program and are viewed as courses that could make up the students program to fulfill requirements to be granted an accredited high school diploma.
The Career-related program studies are considered in conjunction with the student's complete high school record and the appropriate high school leaving credential.
At McGill, HL subjects with a final result of '5' or better are considered for and granted credit and exemption, always based on the policy of the entering program at the University. Students completing the full IB Diploma can, dependent on final outcome on HL subjects, and on the entering program's policies, be granted up to the equivalent of a full year of credit. Students completing individual IB Diploma courses can be granted credit and exemption at the level of the equivalent course at McGill. Potential credit and exemptions are noted on the transfer credit website.
