IB students can apply for Admissions Awards Including IB Presidential scholarships
Students who achieve an IB Diploma with a total score of 24 and results of 3 or higher in subjects required for their intended program will qualify for admission. The minimum predicted IBDP score for admission to any SMU program: 24/42 (anticipated/projected grades).
Students with Maths AA/ AI can apply to any program
IBDP students presenting English HL or SL with a minimum grade of 4+ will meet our minimum English Language Proficiency Requirements and will not have to submit additional tests or proof of English Language Proficiency
A long-time supporter of the International Baccalaureate programme, Saint Mary’s University rewards students for their success with a generous IB recognition policy. IB students benefit from tailored scholarships, including competitive renewable entrance awards and the prestigious IB Presidential Scholarship. IB applicants with subject scores of 4 or higher will receive a minimum of 36 credit hours, up to a maximum of 42 credit hours, on obtaining the full IBDP, including up to 12 credit hours for those receiving a minimum of two points on the IB Core (TOK, EE, CAS)
If you are currently enrolled in IBDP courses, you can apply to Saint Mary’s using your anticipated or predicted results. For undergraduate admission, a mix of IB subjects and Grade 12 equivalent courses that satisfy the prerequisite requirements for your desired degree program is required.
Canadian High School/IBCP applicants must complete two IB courses with a minimum score of 4, submit their CRS Learning Portfolio, meet a five-course requirement combining Grade 12 and IB academic courses, and graduate with their provincial high school diploma. They must also meet the prerequisite course requirements for their chosen degree program. Non-Canadian High School/IBCP applicants must complete one Higher Level IB course and two additional IB courses (HL or SL) with a minimum score of 4, submit their CRS Learning Portfolio, fulfill their diploma requirements, and meet the prerequisite course requirements for their preferred degree program.
