The University of Helsinki offers two English-taught bachelor’s programmes designed to help you explore different fields before choosing your direction. In the Bachelor’s Programme in Liberal Arts and Sciences, you combine natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities while developing analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. In the Bachelor's Programme in Science, you dive into chemistry, computer and data science, mathematics and statistics, and physics before selecting your specialisation. Once you complete your bachelor’s degree, you have the right to continue directly to a master’s programme at the University of Helsinki without a separate application. Students will need to complete the full IB diploma and may need to fulfill specific subject and level requirements depending on the programme.
English-language Bachelor's Programmes: Students can apply to all programmes with any math subject (AA/AI) at any level but a minimum score might be required (check the website). Finnish and Swedish programmes: Depending on the programme students may be required to have a certain math subject and level.
English-language Bachelor's Programmes: Students meet the English language requirements when the full IB diploma is taught in English. If not, one of the following grades is required: English as the A1 language with a minimum grade of 2, English as the A2 language with a minimum grade of 5, OR English as A language (literature/language and literature/literature and performance) with a minimum grade of 2. DP courses may be considered if the student also has completed another high school diploma.
