Emory University considers the IB Diploma Program (IBDP) to be among the most rigorous curricula offered worldwide. To be competitive for admission to Emory University, students should be pursuing the IBDP if they attend an IB school. In addition, we may award advanced standing credit to IB students who receive a 5, 6 or 7 on Higher Level exams.
Students are encouraged to engage the full IB Diploma when available, however, all students are considered case by case in the context of their school. While there is no minimum score, the most competitive students earn final results of 6 and 7 on their final IB Examinations.
We are able to admit students with any level of IB Mathematics. Students entering into the IBDP are highly encouraged to speak with their IB Coordinator and/or school counselor about the courses within the IBDP which are most appropriate for their trajectory.
Emory University values the rigorous academic standards of the IB Diploma program and welcomes students to apply who are in process of successfully completing it. This includes those pursuing the IB Bilingual Diploma. We recognize their potential to enrich our global community and flourish in a rigorous academic setting.
Credits are awarded for HL courses only. Please refer to the university admission website for more information.
